Life goes by awfully fast. It doesn’t seem like all that long ago that my 2 boys were in diapers and OshKosh overalls (I loved those outfits!!) and now they are almost 21 and 24. How did THAT happen!! After all, I’m still 35….OK, I feel 35. Anyway, I know that life is very precious and as Sara Evans said in a song- “you can’t fence time”. My patients who started with me 26 years ago are now 26 years older and their kids now have kids. Boy I’m even starting to sound old!Circle of Life- Welcome Baby Boy Landen

I have been waxing nostalgic lately because, Corinne, our amazing hygienist let us know at the beginning of this year that she was pregnant with her first child. It has been 19 years since there has been a baby in our practice family so we have all been very excited. Well- let’s be honest- my first reaction was-”you mean you’ll need to take off a month or 2 later this year??” and then I was excited. As she got bigger, all baby out front, we went through the stages of the sonogram, finding out it was a boy, the baby shower (women only thankfully), the 3D sonogram (when did this technology come about?!) and then finally the countdown.
Well, I am pleased to announce that Thomas Landen Wertz was born on Thursday August 18th weighing in at 7pounds 4 ounces. Mom and baby (and oh yeah Dad) were all doing magnificently. Cindy, Edie and I had the privilege of visiting them last week and I can officially report that he is the cutest baby boy that i have seen this year! Everyone got a chance to hold him, even Cindy who looked decidedly uncomfortable but Landen slept soundly nevertheless.
The really important information that all my patients are most interested in- when will Corinne be coming back. As many of you know, I have been doing the patient cleanings while Corinne has been on “vacation” and, yes, I do remember how to clean teeth. I must admit, most patients’ first question after their cleaning has been “and when is Corinne coming back?”. So the answer that you have all been waiting for is that Corinne will be back in the saddle starting October 17th!! We are all very excited to have her back and even more excited to have a baby boy to spoil and to tickle and to delight in. Welcome Baby Boy Landen!!!
